Research interests: Catalytic and electrocatalytic processes, solid-state electrochemistry, low-, medium-, and high-temperature fuel cells, direct ethanol fuel cells for electricity generation, design and development of new catalysts for hydrogen production by reforming renewable fuels.

Research interests are related to obtaining new functional and structural materials for high-temperature electrochemical applications (these materials have improved stabilization, mechanical, ceramic, and electrical characteristics); development and application of oxide materials with mixed ionic-electronic conductivity in membrane devices for obtaining high-purity hydrogen by water vapor conversion; application of high-temperature proton electrolytes in electrochemical devices, including sensors, electrolyzers and solid oxide fuel cells; development of technical solutions for the formation of ceramic materials, multilayer elements and single cells of electrochemical devices; identifying the main directions for the development of promising materials and their effective use in electrochemical devices.

Natalya Aleksandrovna Tarasova

Research interests are related to  creation of new materials, high-performance proton-conducting complex-oxide electrolytes for medium-temperature (300-700°C) electrochemical devices;  determination of the fundamental relationship between the composition and structure of complex-oxide systems with their transport characteristics and chemical stability in order to create the prerequisites for the successful development of hydrogen and electrochemical energy.

Publication activity: according to the Web of Science database Natalya is the author of 46 publications, cited 300 timess, h-index is 11. According to the base Scopus there are  47 publications, cited  310 times, h-index is 11.

       Anatoly Konstantinovich Demin

PhD in Chemistry, Leading Researcher.

Research interests: Electrochemistry of solid oxide conductors, electrolytes with oxygen-ion and proton conductivity, macrokinetic processes in solid oxide electrochemical devices, theoretical and experimental studies of solid oxide electrochemical devices: fuel cells, electrolyzers, oxygen pumps, electrochemical converters, amperometric sensors. Anatoly Demin contributed greatly to the development of theoretical foundations of solid oxide electrochemical devices and theoretically substantiated that fuel cells on proton electrolytes have higher efficiency.

Alexander Nikolayevich Volkov

PhD in Chemistry, Senior Researcher.

Scientific interests are related to the development of gas sensors based on solid electrolyte electrochemical cells, the study of gas diffusion, and the development of analytical methods for measuring gas humidity. Alexander Volkov is actively involved in development of amperometric and potentiometric sensors on solid electrolytes for the analysis of such gases as hydrogen, oxygen, carbon monoxide and dioxide, methane, ammonia. Original designs of sensors for determination of humidity of inert gases and air at elevated temperatures have been developed.

The field of scientific interests includes composite and catalytic materials; design and manufacturing technologies of electrochemical devices based on solid oxide cells, such as fuel cells, electrolyzers, electrochemical gas pumps, gas sensors; automation of these electrochemical devices, including development of autonomous power plants based on SOFC.

Scientific interests are related to the development of electrochemical devices for energy production (fuel cells), sensors to determine concentration of different gases in gaseous and molten environments, electrolyzers, membrane converters to obtainproducts from gaseous and molten environments. Alexander is involved in a number of projects on the development and testing of electrochemical generators based on solid oxide fuel cells, converters for obtaining hydrogen from water steam and natural gas, high-temperature electrolyzers for obtaining hydrogen and oxygen, sensors for hydrogen, carbon dioxide, water vapor content in gas mixtures. With his direct participation, a prototype of an autonomous power plant on solid oxide fuel cells was created and successfully tested at the industrial site.
